Five CAO Bones Chicken Foot. $34.95. That's just $6.99 a cigar.
Some cigars have names that need explaining.
Chicken Foot is one of them.
CAO Bones was inspired by those nights spent hanging around with friends, smoking cigars, playing dominoes or dice, having a few drinks and talking a little trash. Even the names of the different sizes come from variations of domino games.
We're not giving you the whole box. Because, well... you can't smoke the box.
Instead, we're giving you five of the Chicken Foot, a chunky 5 x 54 that puts this dark, flavorful blend into one of our favorite sizes.
It starts with a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Connecticut Shade binder. Underneath is a four-country mix of Honduran Jamastran, Honduran La Entrada, Nicaraguan Estelí and Dominican Piloto Cubano filler tobaccos.
The result is a medium-to-full-bodied cigar with plenty going on. CAO describes the profile with notes of sweetness, nuts, vanilla and coffee. There's also plenty of the darker character you'd expect from a good Broadleaf: earth, leather, cocoa, pepper and some deeper sweetness as it burns.
And we're not the only ones who think it's good.
David Jones at Leaf Enthusiast smoked the Chicken Foot three times before reviewing it and gave it an impressive 9.5 out of 10, including perfect scores for construction and value. His conclusion?
"Bones represents another winner from CAO..."
He also called it "complex enough to satisfy from end to end." Read the full Leaf Enthusiast review here.
Of course, that review was written when these things were considerably less expensive.
Our FIVER is $34.95 against a current MSRP of $63.45.
That's five Chicken Foots for $6.99 each.
Grab a bourbon. Find a couple friends. Break out the dominoes if you've got them.
We'll supply the Bones.
